About
The Dayangzhou Chengjia site, located in Dayangzhou Town, Xingan County, Jiangxi, China, is an important archaeological site dating to around 1200 BCE. It is notable for its rich assemblage of bronze and jade artefacts, making it the second richest burial site after Fu Hao's tomb. The site features a rectangular tomb covered by a tumulus, although the skeletal remains did not survive due to sand shifts. Artefacts include over 1,000 jade objects and 480 bronze objects, showcasing a distinct style influenced by the Erligang culture and localized by the Wucheng culture. The artefacts from this site are primarily housed in the Jiangxi Provincial Museum, providing valuable insights into the cultural practices and metallurgical advancements of the time.
