Purunllacta, also known as Purum Llacta, is an archaeological site associated with the Chachapoya culture, located in the Amazonas Region of Peru. Situated on a mountain in the Chachapoyas Province, Cheto District, it exemplifies the habitation patterns of the Chachapoya people. The term 'Purunllacta' translates from Quechua to 'wild place,' indicating its historical significance as a settlement. The site, recognized as a National Cultural Heritage of Peru, showcases the Chachapoya's architectural style and social organization. Its proximity to another site, Purunllacta of the Soloco District, highlights the regional spread and influence of the Chachapoya civilization during the Late Post-Classical Period, roughly between 1000 CE and 1500 CE.
