About
Latium Adjectum, also known as New Latium, was an important region in Roman Italy, located between Monte Circeo and the river Garigliano. It expanded to include various ancient peoples such as the Volsci, Osci, and Ausones, and contained notable towns and cities like Sinuessa, Anagnia, and Sora. The region was marked by significant Roman and Latin colonization efforts, with towns and cities developed along key roads like the Via Latina. The geographical features included valleys and the lower reaches of the Liris River, making it a fertile area with thriving agricultural activities. This expansion and development under Roman influence contributed to Latium Adjectum's integration into the Roman Empire, enhancing its strategic and economic importance.
