About
The village of Żukczyn, located in northern Poland within the historic region of Pomerania, holds significant archaeological importance due to its prehistoric origins. Three key archaeological sites from the Iron Age have been identified here, including two settlements and a cemetery, reflecting the habitation and burial practices of the time. Furthermore, Żukczyn was an early medieval settlement, which is also an important archaeological site. This area became a part of the Polish state under the rule of Mieszko I in the 10th century. The presence of these archaeological sites offers valuable insights into the cultural and historical development of the region during the Iron Age and early medieval periods.
