About
Lysinia, also known as Lysinoe, was an ancient town situated in the region of Pisidia, later integrated into Pamphylia. It was located south of Ascania Lacus and west of Sagalassus, near present-day Karakent in Burdur Province, Turkey. The town held significance as a bishopric in the early post-classical period, reflecting its religious importance within the Roman Catholic Church. Despite its historical religious role, the town's precise archaeological features remain largely undocumented, with its current recognition primarily linked to its status as a titular see. The site's historical phases reflect its transition from a classical settlement into a notable ecclesiastical center during the Byzantine era.
