About

Tell Yunatsite, located in Bulgaria's Pazardzhik Province, is a significant archaeological site featuring a multilayered settlement mound. This site provides a rich tapestry of human occupation spanning over 6,000 years, from the Early Chalcolithic period in the 5th millennium BCE to the medieval period. The tell, with a height of 12 meters and a diameter of 110 meters, reveals a complex history of settlement, fortification, and cultural evolution. Notably, the site includes evidence of Chalcolithic fortifications, Early Bronze Age habitation, and later Roman and medieval structures. Excavations have uncovered a variety of artifacts, including pottery, tools, and religious figurines, illustrating the material and spiritual life of its inhabitants. Tell Yunatsite offers invaluable insights into the development of prehistoric communities in Southeastern Europe.
