Chawaytiri is an archaeological site located in the Cusco Region, within the Calca Province of Peru, near the village of Chawaytiri. The site is renowned for its rock paintings, particularly the section known as Llamachayuq Qaqa, which features depictions of llamas. These artistic expressions are found along the slopes of the mountain Muruwiksa. In addition to Llamachayuq Qaqa, other sections of the site include Wamanwachana, Kawituyuq, P'allqapata, Musuqllaqta, Misaqaqa, and Qaqa. The presence of these rock paintings provides valuable insights into the cultural and artistic endeavors of the region's past inhabitants, contributing to our understanding of their interaction with the environment and the significance of llamas in their society.
