About

Puszyna is an archaeological site of significant historical importance, located in south-western Poland. The village sits on the remnants of a medieval motte-and-bailey castle, which was established during the early Post-Classical Period under Piast rule in Poland. The castle was actively used from the 10th to the 14th century, representing the defensive strategies of the time. In the 18th century, the village came under Prussian control and was later part of Germany from 1871 until the end of World War II in 1945, after which it returned to Polish sovereignty. The site offers insights into medieval defensive architecture and the political shifts in the region over several centuries.
