Las Qoray, a coastal town in the Sanaag region of Somaliland, holds significant archaeological and historical value. The area is renowned for its ancient rock art at sites like Karinhegane, with paintings dating back approximately 2,500 years, illustrating both real and mythical animals. The town has been a hub of cultural and economic activity throughout different periods, with a notable mosque constructed in 1735, symbolizing its historical trade connections with regions like Swahili, Zanzibar, Arabia, and India.
