Pom Phet is a significant archaeological site located in Ayutthaya, Thailand, representing one of the two surviving forts from the original 29 built to defend the city. Constructed during the mid-16th century CE, amid the Ayutthaya-Burmese conflicts, it stands as a testament to the military architecture of the era. Made from durable brick and laterite, the fort is 14 meters thick with eight openings designed for cannons, emphasizing its strategic importance.
