About

Ərəbyengicə is an archaeological site located in the Sharur District of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan. Situated on the left bank of the Arpachay River, this ancient settlement covers an area of about 0.8 hectares. Despite damage from agricultural activities, the site retains significant archaeological value, with remnants of cultural layers from the Eneolithic period and the Kura–Araxes culture. The site has yielded small ceramic fragments and obsidian, indicative of past human activity. The ceramics found at Ərəbyengicə share similarities with those from Kultepe I and other regional sites, suggesting a connection to the larger cultural landscape of the time. This site provides valuable insights into early human settlement patterns and cultural developments in the region during the 4th and 3rd millennia BCE.
