About

The Eremitage Maria Reizenborn, also known as Räzebore, is a significant archaeological site located in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany. This former hermitage is situated on a historic pilgrimage route and features remnants of a sanctuary built by the Celts around 1000 CE, emphasizing its long-standing religious significance. The site saw its first hermit occupation in 1718, and a chapel was consecrated in 1732, supporting local pilgrimages. A larger church was constructed in 1775 but later abandoned in 1796 due to the French wars.
