About
Adullam-France Park, established in 2008 in Israel's Central District, comprises significant archaeological sites from the Second Temple period. The park covers an expansive area of 50,000 dunams and includes major sites such as Adullam, Horvat 'Ethri, Ḥurvat Burjin, and Ḥurvat Madras, which offer insights into historical settlements and activities in the region. Notable archaeological features include remnants of ancient villages, ossuaries, olive presses, and milestones, reflecting the life and culture during the Late Classical Period. The park's natural beauty is enhanced by Mediterranean vegetation and seasonal flowers. It also serves recreational purposes, offering trails for hikers and bikers. The park is managed by the Jewish National Fund, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, and the Israel Antiquities Authority, and features a visitors' center with exhibitions of ancient artifacts.
