About
Kfar Giladi is an archaeological site in northern Israel that reveals a rich tapestry of human history from the Neolithic to Roman periods. Archaeological excavations have uncovered evidence of early Neolithic occupation dating back to 6400 BCE, with tools such as axes, adzes, and arrowheads, as well as pottery with intricate designs. The site also contains Chalcolithic remains, indicating continued habitation into the Copper Age. A significant Roman-period Jewish mausoleum was discovered at Kfar Giladi, featuring multiple burial levels, including sarcophagi and graves adorned with lead coffins. These findings demonstrate the site's importance as a long-standing settlement and burial ground, offering valuable insights into the region's ancient cultural and historical developments.
