About
The Shihsanhang archaeological site was a prosperous settlement during the Iron Age, notable for its mastery of iron smelting. This technological advancement facilitated trade across Taiwan, contributing to the wealth of the community. The site features a significant number of graves, reflecting the affluence of its inhabitants through the abundance of grave goods. The burial customs at Shihsanhang were particularly distinctive, with most skeletons interred in a fetal position, except for one anomalous burial that mirrors the practices of the contemporaneous Fantsuyuan Culture. These findings provide valuable insights into the cultural and technological developments of the region during the Late Iron Age.
