About

The burial ground of Cherneliv-Ruskyi is a significant archaeological site associated predominantly with the Chernyakhov culture, located in Right-bank Ukraine. This site has been extensively studied and features 315 burials, primarily from the Chernyakhov culture, dating back to the 3rd and 4th centuries CE. Additional burials from the Kievan Rus' period, as well as isolated Pomeranian and possibly Bronze Age burials, highlight the site's long-term use and cultural significance. The site contributes valuable insights into the burial practices and cultural transitions in this region over several centuries. Excavations led by Ukrainian archaeologist Ihor Gereta have provided a wealth of archaeological materials that are preserved in local institutions.
