Located in Kirovohrad Oblast, Ukraine, the Volodymyrivka site is a significant archaeological discovery that reflects the grandeur of the Cucuteni–Trypillia culture. Dating back to 4000-3600 BCE, this vast settlement spanned 100 hectares, marking it as a proto-city. It is one of the largest among the 2,440 known Cucuteni–Trypillia settlements across Moldova and Ukraine, with 194 others exceeding 10 hectares in size. This site exemplifies the advanced urban planning and community organization of the time, showcasing the transition from Neolithic to Chalcolithic periods. The Volodymyrivka settlement offers invaluable insights into the socio-economic and cultural dynamics of prehistoric Eastern Europe, contributing significantly to our understanding of early proto-urban developments.
