About
Shaybani's hut in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is a notable 16th-century architectural monument dedicated to the burial of the Shaybani Uzbek dynasty. Originally a marble couch, it served as a familial mausoleum constructed under the direction of Mrs. Mehr Sultan. This structure underwent relocations due to urban development, particularly during the opening of a road leading to the Bibikhanim mosque and later city reconstructions in the 1960s. It houses the graves of significant figures from the dynasty, such as Mahmud Sultan, Muhammad Shaybani, and Sultan Suyunch Muhammad, illustrating its importance as a funerary site. The hut, located in Registan Square, remains a testament to the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan, protected as a site of national material heritage.
