Nebaj is an archaeological site located in the western highlands of Guatemala, near the Ixil village of Santa María Nebaj. As a significant hub of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization, this site is notable for its cultural and historical artifacts. Among these is the Fenton Vase, which was excavated at Nebaj and now resides in the British Museum. The site's geographical coordinates, 15°24′30″N 91°8′50″W, place it in a region rich with the remnants of Maya culture. Archaeological evidence suggests that Nebaj was occupied during the Early and Late Post-Classical periods, with features such as stelae and human figurines indicating its ritual and artistic significance.
