This historic funerary complex, situated atop a hill, contains seven ancient tombs that date back to the 7th or 8th centuries CE, placing it within the Early Post-Classical Period. One significant burial within the site is that of Mahmud ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, a religious figure from Yemen who died in 664 CE. His tomb, notably large at approximately eight meters in length, highlights the cultural and religious exchanges that occurred in this region during that time. The site has been recognized for its historical importance and continues to attract visitors as a place of religious tourism.
