About

Sin el-Fil is a historically significant site east of Beirut, notable for its archaeological findings that span multiple periods. The area, characterized by rich red soil and moderate precipitation, was once dominated by stone pine. Archaeological collections from this site indicate a complex history of occupation, including a mix of indeterminate Neolithic artifacts and a Roman presence. Key finds include trihedral Neolithic and Heavy Neolithic forms, as well as Chalossian pieces. The Roman occupation is evidenced on the flat fields above the slopes. Important artifacts from Sin el-Fil are preserved in the National Museum of Beirut and the Museum of Lebanese Prehistory, highlighting its cultural and historical significance.
