About
Jbaa, located in Lebanon, is an archaeological site with a rich history of habitation from the Neolithic period to the contemporary era. The site includes a variety of features, such as defensive fortresses, religious structures like mosques and churches, and burial sites. It has been a center for the growth of Shia Islam and served as a refuge during the 1860 Mount Lebanon civil war. Educational development peaked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the establishment of Turkish and secondary schools. Jbaa's archaeological significance is further highlighted by the discovery of Neolithic and Paleolithic artifacts, indicating long-term human activity and cultural development over millennia.
