About

The Khushuu Tsaidam Museum, located in Kharkhorin, Övörkhangai Province, Mongolia, is dedicated to the preservation and display of significant archaeological artifacts from the Early Post-Classical Period. The museum houses the original Orkhon inscriptions, which are monumental inscriptions erected in honor of the Turkic leaders Bilge Qaghan and Kul Tigin. These artifacts, originally discovered in the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, represent a vital component of Turkic history. Constructed in cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency in 2008, the museum ensures the preservation of these artifacts by housing them indoors while replicas are placed at the original sites. This initiative highlights the cultural and historical significance of the inscriptions, serving as a bridge between the past and present.
