About

The Kobyakovo Settlement is an archaeological site located between Rostov-on-Don and Aksai in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It features a fortified settlement, believed to have connections with Tanais and the Bosporan Kingdom during the Late Classical Period. The site has a complex history, with initial settlements dating back to the Early Iron Age, around the 10th-8th centuries BCE. The Kobyakovo Settlement was further developed during the 1st to 3rd centuries CE, and it is thought to have served as a residence for Polovtsian khans.
