About
Temukan, an ancient city in southern Iran, dates back to the Achaemenid era (550 BCE - 330 BCE) and showcases significant archaeological features such as the Bardak-e Siyah Palace. This site is located in the Borazjan region of Dashtestan county, Bushehr province. Initially thought to be part of Tawwaj, further archaeological findings in 2004 and 2005 have clarified its distinct identity. The presence of a palace indicates its importance as a civic and administrative center during the Achaemenid period. As such, Temukan provides valuable insights into the architectural and urban planning practices of the time, contributing significantly to our understanding of Achaemenid civilization and its regional influence in ancient Iran.
