About
The Hadath archaeological site, located in the Mount Lebanon region about 7 kilometers south-southeast of Beirut, is recognized for its significance in the Heavy Neolithic period, particularly as part of the Qaraoun culture. It features atypical large, rough flakes and tools such as picks, choppers, and cores. Some of these tools reveal evidence of burin impacts and twisted forms, indicating advanced craftsmanship. The site represents a crucial phase in human history, showcasing the technological and cultural advancements during the Neolithic period. Although now urbanized, Hadath remains an important location for understanding the development of early human societies in the Levant.
