About
Bant is a district located in the city of Omdurman, Sudan, characterized by its relatively recent development in the mid-20th century. It was established following the urban restructuring of nearby areas, with land distributed to displaced residents. The district is divided into Bant East and Bant West by Alarbeen Street and is bounded by notable streets like Almorada and Alawda. Despite its modern origins, Bant's climate reflects the extreme desert conditions of the region, with high temperatures and minimal rainfall. While Bant itself does not feature any notable archaeological structures, its development is a reflection of urban shifts in the area during the Industrial and Contemporary periods.
