About
Allar Cave, located in the Yardymli Rayon of Azerbaijan, is a significant archaeological site from the Middle Paleolithic period. Situated at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level along the Vilesh River, this cave was discovered in 1993 during an archaeological expedition led by the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The site yielded nine Middle Paleolithic stone artifacts, indicating human habitation during this ancient period. The cave is a valuable source of information about early human settlement patterns and tool-making practices in the region. Its discovery adds to our understanding of the spread and adaptation of human communities in the Caucasus during the Paleolithic era.
