About
Kadisoka is a partially excavated Hindu temple located in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Thought to date back to the 8th century CE, this temple exhibits architectural similarities to other structures found in the fertile Kewu Plain. Although incomplete, its base and central pit suggest Hindu religious significance. The temple was buried by lahar flows from the nearby Kuning River on two occasions, which contributed to its preservation beneath approximately 3 meters of earth. Rediscovered in 2000, excavation efforts have uncovered portions of the temple, including semi-precious stones and a gold plaque with a lotus engraving. Its partially revealed structure and artifacts offer insights into the religious and cultural practices of the period.
