About
Jiroft, located in the Halil River area of Iran, is a significant archaeological site known for its Early Bronze Age civilization. The site, hypothesized to be one of the earliest human civilizations, is associated with a rich cultural framework and features significant artifacts, including elaborately carved chlorite vessels. Excavations at Konar Sandal have revealed a fortified citadel, cult buildings, and graves, all reinforcing the site's importance in the study of early urban development. The artifacts discovered, dating from approximately 2500 to 2200 BCE, suggest a society with complex social structures and multiple writing systems. The site's discoveries have contributed significantly to understanding the development of early civilizations in the region.
